About Me
I’m an AI Engineer / Data Scientist with a background in Psychology, Behavioral Data Science and Software Engineering.
Today, I work at VDI/VDE-IT, where I develop and maintain AI- and automation solutions that support colleagues in their daily work. My focus is particularly on LLM-based applications, RAG systems, data pipelines and process automation. I also run workshops on AI literacy, helping people understand how to use AI effectively and responsibly in their work.
What I enjoy most is working at the intersection of data, software and AI: turning ideas into useful products rather than stopping at a prototype.
From Psychology to AI
My path into technology wasn’t exactly linear.
I originally studied Psychology at the University of Innsbruck, where I became increasingly interested in research and the quantitative analysis of human behavior. During my Master’s, programming and statistics became a much bigger part of my interests, leading me to pursue a second Master’s in Behavioral Data Science at the University of Amsterdam.
There, I combined psychology with programming, statistics and data analysis, graduating cum laude in 2021.
My first professional experience was in educational technology, working with SQL databases and large-scale behavioral data. I then joined Yagora, where I worked as a Data Scientist and consultant for global FMCG companies. I used statistical modeling, machine learning, time-series forecasting and causal analysis to turn large amounts of consumer data into actionable insights.
Over time, I realized that I enjoyed not only analyzing data, but increasingly building the systems and products around it.
That led me deeper into software engineering and machine learning infrastructure. In my spare time, I worked through the LLM Zoomcamp and MLOps Zoomcamp, building projects around RAG, deployment, monitoring, CI/CD and cloud technologies.
That eventually brought me to my current role at VDI/VDE-IT, where I can combine the different parts of my background: understanding people and their needs, working with data, and building technology that actually gets used.
What I Care About
I enjoy working in teams where people are curious, communicate openly and care about building things properly.
Technically, I’m particularly interested in AI Engineering, Data Engineering and ML Engineering, especially when that means going beyond demos and prototypes towards reliable, maintainable systems.
I value clean code, good architecture, modern engineering practices and continuous learning, while still leaving room for experimentation and new ideas.
Outside of Work
When I’m not working, I’m usually doing something involving a board: surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding or wakeskating. I also spend time at the gym and occasionally return to the piano, mostly playing Chopin and Yann Tiersen.
I’ve also been making music on computers since my teenage years and am currently trying to revive that hobby. Apparently, some things survive even after years of neglect.
